PMO Managing Director Reviews Status of Gilan Province Ports

During the session, Shakibinasab described ports as vital logistical chokepoints that require specialized infrastructure and, most importantly, a robust human workforce. “Port workers are the backbone of our logistical operations,” Shakibinasab stated. He directed port managers to prioritize programs that enhance the safety, welfare, and professional training of this workforce, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to improving their livelihoods.

The Managing Director also outlined the PMO’s strategic vision for global engagement, calling for a more active presence at international maritime conferences. He noted that such participation is essential for transferring advanced knowledge and technology while strengthening regional cooperation.

In a significant development during the meeting, Shakibinasab held a direct telephone conversation with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh. Expressing satisfaction with the performance of the PMO and port managers, the Minister stressed the urgent need to accelerate logistical processes to ensure the rapid supply and distribution of essential goods. She provided key recommendations to further optimize future operations.

Concluding the session, Hossein Younesi, Director-General of the Ports and Maritime Organization for Gilan Province, presented a comprehensive report on the province’s port status. He highlighted the necessity of integrating modern technologies and upgrading equipment to expedite operations and elevate safety standards across the region.
